Panasonic has outed a full five new digital cameras in its Lumix range, including rugged models, HD-video capable shooters and the company’s first full hybrid. The Panasonic Lumix FZ100 kicks things off, with a 14.1-megapixel sensor, Full HD video recording, 24x optical zoom and 11fps burst rates, while the Lumix DMC-FZ40 gets the same sensor and can shoot 720p HD AVCHD Lite video.

The Panasonic Lumix FX700, meanwhile, has a 14.1-megapixel sensor, 3-inch touchscreen LCD and 5x optical zoom with a 24mm ultra wide-angle lens. It has AF tracking and HD video recording, together with an optical image stabilizer and night-shot mode that shoots 10 frames in quick succession and then combines them to create the best image.

As for the Panasonic Lumix LX5, that has the same ultra wide-angle lens but paired with a 3.8x optical zoom and a new, high-sensitivity 10.1-megapixel CCD. It also has a highly color-accurate 3-inch LCD display.

Finally the Panasonic Lumix TS10 is the ruggedized model, with a 14.1-megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom, and shockproof that can withstand a fall of 5 feet, underwater use to 10 feet, dust and temperatures down to 14-degrees F. Since you’ll likely be shivering at that point it handily includes optical image stabilization, together with 720p HD video recording and a 2.7-inch LCD that can auto-boost its backlighting by 40-percent when used outdoors.
The Panasonic Lumix FZ100 will arrive in late August for $499.95, while the FZ40 will drop at the same time for $399.95. The Lumix FX700 will also be $399.95 in late August, with the Lumix LX5 being $499.95. Meanwhile the Lumix TS10 will ship for $249.95 in mid-September.
