Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 10.1MP Point-And-Shoot Arrives
This weekend saw a fresh pair of quietly released Panasonic Lumix digital cameras emerge, the DMC-LX5W and the DMC-LX5K. Functionality identical – the only difference is that the LX5W is white and the LX5K is black – the two new shooters pack 10.1-megapixel sensors, F2.0 Leica DC Summicron lenses, and 3.8x optical zooms.
Each gets 23-point autofocus, face tracking and optical image stabilization, together with an ISO range from 80 to 12,800 and 9-step, 2-axis white balance adjustment. Up to 720p HD 30fps video can be recorded, complete with face detection, with various shooting modes for both still and movie use.
Storage is via SD/SDHC/SDXC card while ports include an NTSC AV-output, mini HDMI and USB 2.0. Both can shoot 2.5fps for up to five consecutive shots, and there’s a 3-inch TFT LCD display together with a hot-shoe for an external flash or EVF. No word on pricing at this stage.
