Olympus mju-Tough 6020 Waterproof Compact Camera

It is a long time since I last took a look at the Olympus camera, last I checked was a terrible FE-4000, back in January. The last time I looked at one of the waterproof compact camera mju-6010 range is fixed in September last year, so now I have a look at the newer model, mju-6020 sound. Launched in February this year is 6020, not too surprisingly, 6010th Review It is equipped with a 14-megapixel CCD sensor 1/2.33-inch, 5x zoom lens equivalent to 28-140 mm and 6.9 cm (2, 7-inch) LCD monitor.

Like all fixed mju series is designed to withstand very rough treatment and is waterproof to a depth of five meters, shockproof to drops of 1.5 m onto a hard surface (plywood, according to the specification test) and freeze proof minus ten degrees Celsius. Body looks like metal but is actually made of high strength plastic and the build quality is exceptionally good, as you might expect. It is finished in matt silver with chrome front panel, which comes in four colors, black, metallic pink, metallic blue and metallic green here.

Waterproof cameras have become very popular over the last few years, and tough mju series has more competition than before. His closest rival is impressive looking Pentax W90 (review soon, I hope) that 12MP sensor, 5x zoom and waterproof to 6m, and currently sells for about £ 220. It also has the new Panasonic FT10, a 14MP sensor, 4x zoom lens, is reflected waterproof to 3m and is currently in the price of 259 pounds. Mju-6020 Hard comfortable wins over those two rivals on price, because it currently sells for less than £ 200 from several online retailers. However, it should be noted that some high street shops have recorded at 299 pounds, a big difference in price. [via trustedreviews]
